Weather in Horsholm – July 2021

Temperatures

The average maximum temperature during July 2021 in Horsholm was 24.1 Celsius, and that was around 2 degrees above normal for the time of year. The average minimum temperature was 14.8 Celsius, and that was over 2 degrees above the monthly normal.

The highest temperature recorded during the month was 29.9 Celsius on both the 14th and 16th, but the temperature reached 29.3 Celsius on the 15th, and there were 10 other days when the maximum exceeded 25 Celsius. On most other days, the temperature rose to between 20 and 25 Celsius, and there were only 2 exceptions. On both the 10th and 29th the maximum temperature was only 19.9 Celsius.

There were several warm nights during July, and on the 16th the temperature only fell to 19.6 Celsius. The 27th was almost as warm with a minimum of 19.3 Celsius, and there were 11 further nights with minima above 15 Celsius, including 5 nights with lows above 17 Celsius. There were no particularly cool nights, although on 9 nights the temperature fell below 13 Celsius. However, only 2 of these cooler nights had minima below 11 Celsius. On the 22nd a minimum of 10.4 Celsius was recorded, with the following night dipping to 10.3 Celsius.

Frost

No frosts were recorded during the month.  

Rain

48.2 millimetres of rain fell during July, which was very close to the monthly average. Measurable precipitation fell on 11 days, and that was 3 days below average, and wet days (when 1 millimetre or more of rain was measured) numbered 9 days, and that was 1 day above average for the month. The first 10 days of July were changeable, although during this period there were 3 dry days. Rainfall was mostly light, but 5.6 millimetres was measured on the 6th, and a further 15.8 millimetres fell on the 10th. It then stayed dry until the 26th. The last 4 days of the month were unsettled, and although rain was fairly light on the 28th and 31st, the 29th and 30th were much wetter with falls of 5.8 and 8.6 millimetres respectively.

Hail

No hail was observed in this part of Horsholm.

Thunder

There was thunder heard early in the evening on the 6th, and again late in the afternoon on the 31st.

Snow

No sleet or snow was observed in this part of Horsholm.

Wind

Although southwesterly winds were dominant, accounting for around 30% of the daily observations, southeasterly breezes were not far behind, and winds with a northerly component amounted to less than 25% of the monthly total. Generally, winds were much lighter than normal, with only 2 days, the 18th and 29th, noticeably breezy, and with just 1 windy day, the 30th, when southwesterlies were strong in the afternoon.  

Fog

There was no fog observed in Horsholm during the month.
